Wellesley – ESI at Albright Institute conference on migration

ESI's Gerald Knaus participated in a conference on "From Exodus to Action: Claiming our Common Humanity in the Refugee Crisis" at the Albright Institute at Wellesley College in Wellesley, Massachusetts. He spoke at the panel "Beyond Resettlement: A Paradigm Shift to Meet Full Need". In his contribution he spoke about the current situation of refugees in the Central Mediterranean and what elements a credible policy on asylum and border management would need to entails. Such a policy must combine effective control of external land and sea borders with respect for existing international and EU refugee law.
