Berlin – ESI contributes to Western Balkans Working Group on EU enlargement

ESI senior analyst Adnan Cerimagic participated in the Western Balkans Working Group meeting, hosted by the Aspen Institute Germany in collaboration with the German Federal Foreign Office.
The meeting focused on EU enlargement, the role of external actors, and reconciliation in the region. Adnan presented ESI’s latest research, highlighting its proposal for single market integration as a pragmatic interim step towards EU membership.
The event brought together policymakers, diplomats from the EU and Western Balkans, such as French Special Representative for the Western Balkans René Troccaz, and leading think-tank experts. Discussions centred on the strategic significance of EU enlargement and fostering closer regional ties.
