Berlin – ESI discusses Western Balkans with Ludwig Maximilian University Munich and Free University Berlin students

ESI senior analyst Adnan Ćerimagić met with a group of twenty master’s students from Ludwig Maximilian University Munich and Free University Berlin at the East European Institute in Berlin. The group was visiting Berlin as part of an excursion organised within the interdisciplinary master‘s programme “East European Studies”.
The discussion focused on current developments in the Western Balkans, the role of think tanks like ESI in shaping policy debates, and the challenges of policy advice in Berlin’s political environment. Students asked questions about the EU’s enlargement strategy, Germany’s approach to the region, and ESI’s method of combining field research with policy advocacy.
ESI is committed to sharing its experience with the next generation of analysts, policymakers, and scholars working on Europe’s future.
