ESI’s Gerald Knaus travelled to Vienna to attend the inaugural meeting of the Austria government’s development policy advisory council at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Vienna. The body’s role is to provide expert advice to Austrian Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger, who also chaired the meeting. Joining Gerald on the council were leaders from other NGOs, academia, the church, and high-ranking development officials.
In addition, during his time in Vienna, Gerald met with security experts Gustav Gressel and Franz-Stefan Gady, discussing among other issues the return of war to Europe and Putin’s hybrid attacks against the continent.
