Diba Nigar Göksel (Turkey/US) joined the European Stability Initiative (ESI) in 2004 and soon became a Senior Analyst covering Turkey and the Caucasus. She has also been editor-in-chief of Turkish Policy Quarterly (TPQ) since 2003. Nigar studied international relations at Koc University. She began her career in 1998 in Washington DC, first working at the Embassy of Azerbaijan and subsequently at TUSIAD-US (Turkish Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association - Washington Office). After returning to Istanbul she was Country Director at IREX (International Research and Exchanges Board), Project Manager at TESEV (Turkish Economic and Social Studies Foundation), and International Relations Secretary-General at the ARI Movement. Since September 2011, she has worked part-time for ESI. She regularly writes on Turkey and the Caucasus for various publications and platforms, focusing largely on women's issues, NGO development and relations with the EU.
