Tigran Mkrtchyan, ESI Analyst from Armenia, was invited to comment on the Armenian-Turkish protocols in Petros Ghazaryan's "Urvagits" talk-show. The topic of discussion was a detailed analysis of the nature of the protocols. While there is a debate in Armenia and abroad that the protocols include certain Turkish preconditions as posited by Turkey since 1991, Tigran argues that the protocols do not include those preconditions. Tigran argues that the current government continues the policies of former governments (ie. relations without preconditions and campaign for international recognition of the Armenian genocide) and contradicts earlier official statements that there is an apparent deviation from the main policies of the previous government.
