Gerda Vogl (Austria), an Austrian career diplomat, worked for ESI in 2009/2010, focusing on EU-Turkey relations. Between 2007 and 2009 she served in the cabinets of Austrian Foreign Ministers Ursula Plassnik and Michael Spindelegger. Prior to that, she was a political advisor to the EU Special Representative in Skopje, focusing mainly on the Macedonian decentralisation process and relations with the ethnic Albanian DUI party. She served three years at the Austrian Permanent Mission to the UN in New York. In 2002-2003 she headed the Austrian Liaison Office in Pristina, working closely with the Provisional Institutions of Self-Governance as well as international organisations and the Austrian community in Kosovo. Gerda studied law at the University of Vienna and holds a Master of Advanced International Studies (M.A.I.S.) from the Vienna Diplomatic Academy.
