Chris Langdon interview for Mitrovica film
When jointly working on a report, ESI analysts regularly use terminology borrowed from the world of film: Has a "story board" been drawn up? Who are the "leading characters"? All ESI reports aim to be "gripping" narratives. This requires clear concepts, a crisp style, an avoidance of jargon and a clear storyline.
But are written reports the only way to tell the stories that ESI research uncovers? In 2003, in cooperation with former BBC producer Chris Langdon, ESI produced a first joint documentary (on Central Bosnia). This was followed by a second on Kosovo. The film about Mitrovica set the tone at the 2003 Wilton Park conference. It was shown at numerous presentations, and later broadcast on television in Pristina and Belgrade.
