Sarajevo – ESI at conference on labour migration and EU integration

ESI senior analyst Adnan Ćerimagić participated in the conference Legal challenges of labour migration on Bosnia and Herzegovina’s path to the EU, held on 11 November 2025 at the Faculty of Law of the University of Sarajevo. The event was organised by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in cooperation with the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation and the Faculty of Law.
The conference brought together academics, legal experts, and representatives of international organisations to discuss the legal and institutional dimensions of labour migration in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It also included the signing of a memorandum of understanding between IOM and the University of Sarajevo’s Faculty of Law.
Adnan contributed to the interdisciplinary session on Labour migration and the diaspora: transfer of knowledge in the process of European integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He shared ESI’s analysis of how the country’s diaspora and labour mobility can support reforms and accelerate EU integration through knowledge transfer, skills exchange, and stronger institutional links between citizens abroad and domestic institutions.
