Rome – ESI debating effects of incoming Trump presidency

ESI’s Kristof Bender was invited to a seminar to discuss “European Strategies for an Era of Transatlantic Uncertainty - Building European Resilience and Leadership”. The seminar, organised by the European Public Law Organization (EPLO) under Chatham House rules took place from 18 to 20 November 2024 in Rome.
At a panel on foreign policy and defence, Kristof gave a presentation on current EU policies towards the Western Balkans, Moldova and Ukraine, potential effects of the incoming Trump administration and how the EU should best react.
Participants included former Italian prime minister Giuliano Amato, European and US think tankers and people involved in the Biden-Harris campaign.
