Vienna – ESI at launch of Europe’s Futures Initiative

Europe’s Futures Initiative (EFI)

ESI’s deputy chairperson Kristof Bender attended the launch of the Europe’s Futures Initiative (EFI) who "seeks to rekindle Europe's imaginative power – its capacity to act, to renew itself, and to shape the world rather than merely react to it.” EFI institutionalises the alumni network of Europe Futures fellows, a programme run by ERSTE Stiftung and the Institute for Human Sciences (IWM) in Vienna. 

Francesco Rocchetti, the former secretary general of the Instituto per gli Studi di Politica Internazionale (ISPI), will start as director of EFI in January 2026. Both Kristof as well as ESI chairman Gerald Knaus have become members of EFI.
