Munich – ESI at panel discussion on three decades of peace in Bosnia

Adnan Ćerimagić, ESI’s senior analyst, took part in the panel discussion “30 Years of Dayton – Peace without a Future?”, organised by the Südosteuropa-Gesellschaft together with the Association for International Affairs in Munich. The event took place on 19 November 2025 at the Cervantes Institute in Munich and brought together experts to reflect on the legacy of the Dayton Peace Agreement three decades after its signing.
The debate assessed Dayton’s achievements, its unresolved challenges, and what the years may hold for a stable and democratic Bosnia and Herzegovina. Panellists included Ambassador Michael Steiner, former deputy high representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Adelheid Wölfl, Southeast Europe correspondent for Der Standard in Sarajevo. The discussion was moderated by Prof. Dr. Marie-Janine Calic of Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München.
Adnan presented ESI’s analysis of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s thirty years of peace, highlighting both the country's progress and the critical reforms still needed to strengthen institutions, protect democracy, and anchor the country more firmly in the European project.
