Nicole Pope joins ESI Turkey team

Nicole Pope recently joined ESI Turkey as research associate. She worked from 1989 to 2005 as Turkey correspondent for the French daily Le Monde. Her articles have appeared in numerous publications including The Economist, The International Herald Tribune, The Los Angeles Times, The New York Times (op-ed section) and The Independent. Nicole Pope is the co-author, with Hugh Pope, of "Turkey Unveiled: a History of Modern Turkey". She is currently writing a book on honour killings. Prior to 1987, Nicole worked for the International Committee of the Red Cross in Baghdad (1982-83) and in south Lebanon (1983-84). She has also lived in Tehran, Bahrain and Cyprus.
