Verena Knaus on Kosovo at the European Forum Alpbach 2006

At a 'fire side chat' on the status and future of Kosovo in Alpbach/Austria, Verena Knaus held the introductory speech in which she focused on the convergence of several different political processes in Kosovo, i.e. the "Final Status" discussion, the growing disenchantment of citizens with the UN administration and their own political institutions, as well as the deepening economic crisis as Kosovo adapts to a future without reconstruction assistance.

Alpbach News - Kosovo: The final status is BrusselsMore than one hundred participants attended, including Erhard Busek, President of the European Forum Alpbach and Special Co-ordinator of the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe who chaired the symposium, Kosovo Prime Minister Agim Ceku who spoke on his political and economic vision for Kosovo, Serbian Deputy Minister for Internal Affairs Vladimir Bozovic, as well as Austrian diplomats and more than 100 students from countries worldwide.
