Matthew Clarke (United Kingdom) joined ESI as a junior fellow in April 2014. Since joining he has been undertaking research into prisoners of conscience in Azerbaijan and Russia. Matthew has a Dual Honours degree in Economics and International Relations from Keele University and a Masters degree in International Political Economy from the University of Birmingham where he was an active member of the Model United Nations (MUN) society and a delegate to several of their conferences. Prior to joining ESI, Matthew worked as an intern in the Political Risk department of a major London-based insurance brokerage, and was an Admissions Manager for a Danish business-networking company.
