Nicole Pope (former staff)
Nicole Pope (Switzerland) worked for ESI between January and December 2006. She was Turkey correspondent for the French daily Le Monde for 15 years. Her articles have also appeared in many other international publications. Nicole Pope is the author of “Honor Killings in the 21st Century” and the co-author, with Hugh Pope, of “Turkey Unveiled: a History of Modern Turkey”. Prior to moving to Turkey in 1987, Nicole worked for the International Committee of the Red Cross in Iraq and in Lebanon. She has also lived in Tehran, Bahrain and Cyprus. She holds an MA in International and Community Development.
