Vienna – ESI at Humanitarian Congress: "Forced to Flee - Humanity on the Run"

ESI's Gerald Knaus was invited to participate in the Humanitarian Congress: "Forced to Flee – Humanity on the Run". He spoke at the panel " (Failed) Policy-Making with Global Consequences" together with Yves Daccord, Director-General of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Ulrike Lunacek, Politician, Vice President of the European Parliament, and Volker Türk, Assistant High Commissioner for Protection, Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, UNHCR. The panel was moderated by Alistair Dutton, Director, SCIAF – Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund.
Gerald spoke about the danger populist politics poses to the refugee convention and the need to fully implement the EU-Turkey agreement on migration.
