ESI on the Serbian economy at the 8th summit of the Republic of Serbia

ESI's Gerald Knaus gave a presentation on Serbia's economic realities and the challenges it faces if it seeks to achieve EU candidate status in late 2008 or early 2009.

The primary objective of the Summit was to examine the opportunities and challenges of political and economic cooperation in the Southeast European region with an emphasis on the most recent developments and future prospects in Serbia.

Among the participants were Boris Tadic, President of the Republic of Serbia, Mladjan Dinkic, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy & Regional Development, Cameron Munter, US Ambassador to the Republic of Serbia, Josep Lloveras, Head of Delegation, European Commission, Vuk Jeremic, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, and Hildegard Gacek, Director, European Bank for Reconstruction & Development (EBRD), Belgrade.
