ESI/KBF event on Mitrovica: A European Future - Proposal for progress in Kosovo in 2004
11 March 2004
ESI and the King Baudouin Foundation in Brussels set up a high-level lunch discussion on the future of Kosovo and its most tense area, the divided town of Mitrovica. The event focused on some of the most important issues, dangers and opportunities that international policy makers in Kosovo face today. ESI presented original research which had already triggered a broad debate on policy towards Kosovo among policy makers and in the international and local press (press reactions to the Mitrovica debate). The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Bajram Rexhepi, as well as Oliver Ivanovic, Serb member of the Kosovo assembly, spoke on supporting a multiethnic Mitrovica.
