Stuttgart – ESI presentation on Humane Borders
In his presentation Gerald explained what is really at stake regarding migration and showed that humane borders are possible. Moreover, he explained which fundamental problems we would have to solve for this to happen and how abstract principles can be turned into policies that can be implemented and supported by political majorities. In addition, he outlined ESI’s proposal for a new, humane approach on borders and asylum, warning of the dangers of pushbacks at the EU’s borders and calling for more resettlement programmes.
The historian Wolfgang Niess moderated the presentation and conversation.
