Briesen – ESI presentation on migration policy at ZIA Deutschland
ESI’s Gerald Knaus was invited to give a presentation on migration policy at the German Central Real Estate Committee ZIA Deutschland.
In his presentation, Gerald focused on the primary migration flows, pinpointing the key regions of origin and destination countries. He debunked common misconceptions about migration with concrete data.
Gerald also discussed the recent EU-Tunisia agreement, exploring potential improvements and the feasibility of using it as a template for the broader Maghreb region.
He then described Australia’s strict migration policy, highlighting its inhumane border practices and arguing against its adoption as a model for Europe.
Lastly, Gerald examined the evolving German immigration policy, its impact on neighbourhood development in German cities, and the potential benefits it could bring to rural areas through the integration of migrants.
